Via ferrata Mürren for beginners

The imposing Lauterbrunnen valley and the view of the Jungfrau massif make this via ferrata an unforgettable experience. In addition to the classic elements of a via ferrata, you will find a Nepal bridge over a 400-metre-high gorge as well as numerous ladders. Although this via ferrata is not technically difficult and is suitable for beginners, there are some very exposed sections that can be mentally challenging.

You first go to the meeting point where your trained mountain guide awaits you. You can reach Mürren via the cable car from Stechelberg. Together you will choose your safety equipment so that you can tackle the via ferrata in the best possible way. Once you arrive at the start of the via ferrata, your mountain guide will give you a safety briefing. To begin with, you will cross simple elements before tackling the via ferrata.

You now enter the via ferrata at over 800 meters. Beneath your feet, you can see as far as the valley floor of Lauterbrunnen. Once you reach your destination in Gimmelwald, take the Schilthorn cable car back to Mürren with your guide.

Practical information:

• Light mountain boots or sturdy trekking boots are mandatory
• Multi-layered, warm and functional clothing for mountain tours is recommended
• Not recommended for travelers with a fear of heights, back or heart problems and pregnant women
• You should be in good health and be able to hike for 3-4 hours
• In case of bad weather conditions, the tour may be canceled
