SBB day pass with half-fare card
You can use the SBB day pass with a Half Fare Card for your trip all across Switzerland. This lets you travel for one day (until 5:00 AM the next day) using all public transport modes, including boats, buses, mail coaches, and trams. Even the world-famous panoramic trains are included in the day pass! However, seat reservations will cost extra.
Mountain railways are excluded from the SBB day pass, except for Rigi and Stanserhorn. Which routes you can use is shown on the map of the GA validity area.
Out and About with a Wheelchair
- Wheelchair users increasingly find transport options with low-floor access.
- The SBB Callcenter Handicap arranges assistance when changing trains at stations where platforms have not yet been raised or floor levels have not been aligned. It helps you prepare for barrier-free travel or if you need support while on the move.
- Ships in second class are almost fully wheelchair accessible, provided the wheelchairs are mechanical.
Out and about with a stroller
- If possible, you should use a foldable stroller. It fits almost everywhere.
Travelling with your dog
- Dogs with a shoulder height up to 30 cm travel for free on SBB trains. Condition: They must be kept in a suitable basket or transport box and carried as hand luggage under the seat. If the dog is no longer in the container, a separate ticket is required.
- For all other dogs, a ticket is generally required. As a supplement to the SBB day pass with half fare, a dog day ticket is recommended.
Where in the Jungfrau region is the SBB day pass valid with the half-fare card?
With this day ticket, you won't get a discount on mountain railways in Switzerland (except Stanserhorn and Rigi). Around Interlaken, you won't save money on the following mountain railways: Harder Kulm, Schynige Platte, Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald First, and Schilthorn.
However, you can use the day ticket up to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Mürren, and Wengen and buy your ticket for the mountain summit from there.
