You use the bike day ticket for your full-day trip within Switzerland. You load your bike yourself. You can travel in either 1st or 2nd class, provided you have a valid ticket for that class.
With the day ticket, you can use all public transport services and some smaller transport operators. Which companies and routes are included is shown in the validity area table (column 600 Bike). Make sure to check this before beginning your trip. Most boat companies and mountain railways do not allow bikes.
Useful information:
If you only travel short distances on public transport costing less than 14 CHF, the bike day pass isn’t worthwhile. Instead, buy a regular bike ticket for that trip or zone.

Wonderful experience, but expensive. In Germany, the bike pass costs 6 euros, while in France, bicycles are free on regional trains.
