Titlis
About this place
At 3'062 metres, you can enjoy not only a breathtaking 360° panorama over the wide Engelberg valley, but also a view down into the depths, where numerous crevasses cut through the glacier ice. Things get really cool at the mountain station: an artificial 150-metre glacier grotto runs right through the Titlis glacier, straight into the heart of the glacier. Here, the ceiling is covered in ice crystals, the glacier ice glows a mysterious blue and crevasses open in the ceiling. If you step into the ice, make sure you wrap up warm, because beneath the 20-metre-thick glacier the thermometer does not rise above -1° C. Things heat up on the glacier, though: the glacier chairlift «Ice Flyer» and the Glacier Fun Park make for fun. Crossing the glacier and climbing up to the Titlis summit is a special experience – of course only accompanied by a mountain guide. Information Altitude: 3'062 m a.s.l.
