About this place

Two adjoining winegrowers’ houses, dating from 1615 and 1618, tell the story and development of the region, from the Neolithic to the golden age of the hotel trade. The collections focus on the themes of local tradition (rural life, carpentry, crafts, numismatics, weights and measures, etc.) and the rise of tourism (architecture, images, hotels, literature, transport, illustrious guests, etc.). A room for nimble fingers reveals a collection of more than 2,100 thimbles, a 19th-century loom, and objects linked to weaving. Bobbin lace, needle lace or crochet, frivolity lace or nets: these works, gradually forgotten, emerge here from the shadows for the pleasure of the eye.
