The train through the vines
About this place
A regional train running hourly from Vevey station to Puidoux-Chexbres, also called the «Rebbergzug», offers you the exceptional experience of travelling through the vineyard terraces of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lavaux. From Chexbres-Village station (intermediate stop), you’ll find plenty of walking paths through the magnificent, steep vineyard terraces. A marked educational trail расскаtes the history of the vineyard and its grape varieties. The «Lavaux Panoramic» is a tourist train on rubber tyres that takes visitors from Chexbres-Village along narrow roads through the vineyards. Along the way, travellers are informed about the region’s features and can admire the spectacular landscape. Under the name «Lavaux Express», small road trains also run from Lutry and Cully through the Lavaux vineyards. The winegrowers offer passers-by their wines for tasting in their cellars.
