Réclère – Grotten und Préhisto-Park
JU
About this place
At the end of the 19th century, the grottos of Réclère in the canton of Jura were discovered and soon opened to the public. On a guided 1.5-kilometre circular route with over 500 steps, you walk past stalagmites and stalactites, enter the large hall with stalagmites over 15 metres high, and see the puzzling rock formation, which hints at a mysterious face in profile. Right next to the grottos is the Préhisto-Park. On a two-kilometre forest trail with over 40 life-size replicas of dinosaurs and other animals, you can follow evolution from the first amphibians via the dinosaurs to the first mammals.
