Monte Rosa mountain tour from Zermatt 2 days

Description
Together with the mountain guide you take the cable cars to the mountain station Rotenboden. Here begins the approximately 5-hour hike to the Monte Rosa hut. The hut is open in April/May and from July to mid-September. An overnight stay with half board is reserved for you.
The next morning, after breakfast, you go back over the Gorner glacier to Rotenboden. The mountain railroad brings you back to Zermatt.
Requirements:
- T 4 - alpine hiking: "Trail track not mandatory. In certain places you need your hands to move forward. Terrain already quite exposed, tricky grassy slopes, scree, easy firn fields and apere glacier passages. If marked according to SWW standards: white-blue-white." (Source: SAC hiking scale)
Swiss Activities Tip
The Monte Rosa hut is located at 2883 m above sea level, above the Gorner glacier, through which it is also reached. in 1894 the first hut was built here, in 2008 a new hut was built 100 m above. During the operating hours there is room for 120 overnight guests.
The view from the hut goes to the Gorner glacier below and several four-thousand-meter peaks. The most famous mountain giants in the vicinity are Castor, Pollux, Breithorn or Matterhorn as well as the Dufourspitze in the Monte Rosa massif itself.
