Monte Brè Cable Car Ticket from Lugano Cassarate

Take the funicular from Lugano Cassarate and reach Monte Brè in 14 minutes across two sections. Once at the top, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains.

There’s a wide network of hiking trails ranging from easy to challenging. Bicycles are only transported on the second section.

Section 1:

• Valley station: Lugano Cassarate
• Mountain station: Suvigliana
• The funicular holds up to 30 people

Section 2:

• Valley station: Suvigliana
• Intermediate stops: Albonago - Aldesago - Brè Villaggio
• Mountain station: Monte Brè
• The funicular holds up to 68 people

Useful information:

• Strollers: Folded or closed buggies and strollers are carried free of charge. They must fit through the turnstile at entry and exit.
• Wheelchairs cannot be transported.
• Small dogs (up to 30 cm shoulder height) can travel for free if placed in an appropriate container (basket or bag) without using a separate seat.
• Bicycles are only allowed on section 2 (with a fee) and must not be heavily soiled.
• There are only a few parking spaces at the Lugano Cassarate valley station. Using public transport (bus lines 2 and 12 TPL) is recommended.

Monte Brè is located east of Lugano. It stands at 925 metres above sea level and is considered the sunniest mountain in Switzerland. As a viewpoint, it offers a view of Lake Lugano and the Bay of Lugano. Surrounding it, you can see the mountains of the Bernese and Valais Alps. Like Monte San Salvatore, Monte Brè is a local mountain of Lugano. The extensive network of hiking trails offers routes for all levels of difficulty.
