Good to know, from official information and the press

  • Travel by train and get off at Enge, Wollishofen, Tiefenbrunnen or Wiedikon rather than at Zürich HB or Stadelhofen; from there, you can stroll to the lake basin. Source
  • Wear closed, sturdy trainers instead of flip-flops or sandals, because there’s broken glass everywhere. Source
  • Stay towards the edge rather than in the middle, especially on the Quaibrücke; if it gets tight, move off into side streets. Source
  • Leave glass bottles at home and buy drinks at the official stands; if you drink something of your own, use a resealable plastic bottle. Source
  • Leave jewellery and large amounts of cash at home, and keep your phone and wallet safely close to your body. Source
  • Bring sunscreen, a hat and earplugs, and treat yourself to regular breaks in the shade. Source
