The exhibition Kirchner. Picasso showcases the works of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Pablo Picasso side by side for the first time. Over 100 paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints from major European museums reveal fascinating parallels and contrasts. The focus is primarily on painting.

You'll experience the radical visual languages of two artists who shaped the 20th century in a unique way. The exhibition is structured into thematic chapters, ranging from life in the big city to the intimacy of the studio and self-staging. Expressive portraits of their partners and striking nudes highlight different stylistic developments of these two exceptional artists.

Pablo Picasso is considered one of the most important artists of the 20th century and a co-founder of Cubism. His prolific output produced over 15,000 paintings, 7,000 drawings, 1,200 sculptures, and 20,000 prints.

Ernst Ludwig Kirchner was a German painter and graphic artist, co-founder of the artist group "Die Brücke," and one of the most prominent figures in German Expressionism. He created over 1,000 paintings, 2,000 drawings, 500 prints, and 200 sculptures. From 1917 onward, he lived in Davos, where he integrated the alpine landscape and mountain community life into his expressionist work.
