Discover the highest peak in the canton of Lucerne with this hiking ticket. At 2350 m above sea level lies the Brienzer Rothorn. You'll ride the rack railroad in a carriage with large panoramic windows to the summit. Steam locomotives are still used today to maintain the special experience. Through deep green forests and past typical Swiss pastures with cows, it takes about an hour to get to the top.

Hiking time for one of the four sections is 2 to 3 hours. Which section you want to hike is up to you. The stretch between Rothorn and Planalp goes down more than 1000 meters in altitude. On the way you will see the Brienzer Rothorn cable car again and again.

Between Planalp and Brienz the hike is very varied. The trail leads via Mettli / Milibach through forests and along wild streams and lush meadows.

Practical information:

• One dog per person is free of charge, each additional dog costs CHF 10.00
• On your birthday you travel for free (bring your ID card)
• Bicycles are not transported by train
• At the summit Rothorn it is usually about 10 degrees colder than in Brienz

In the Berghaus Rothorn Kulm you will find simple snacks as well as a gourmet menu. Before or after your hike, a visit to the restaurant is not only a culinary experience. The view from here is overwhelmingly beautiful.
