Heidelberg Christmas Market 2026

The Heidelberg Christmas market is open from 23 November to 22 December 2026, Sun–Fri 11:00–21:00, Sat 11:00–22:00. It is spread across Bismarckplatz, Universitätsplatz, Kornmarkt, Anatomiegarten, Karlsplatz and Marktplatz. The winter woodland on Kornmarkt stays open until 1 January 2027, the ice rink on Karlsplatz until 6 January 2027.

Bismarckplatz, Universitätsplatz, Kornmarkt (Winterwäldchen), Anatomiegarten, Karlsplatz (ice rink), Marktplatz
Six squares, each with its own character: the Universitätsplatz is the largest, with a jumping-horse carousel more than 100 years old. In the Anatomiegarten decorated huts stand in front of the Bunsen monument, and on Karlsplatz there are ice skating and specialities with a view of the castle.

Good to know
Father Christmas's house
On Marktplatz children can visit Father Christmas, in return for a donation of 8 euros or more to children's projects run by the Lions Club Heidelberg-Altstadt.
Without a car
For Karlsplatz go to Heidelberg-Altstadt S-Bahn station, from there about a 10-minute walk; for Bismarckplatz and Universitätsplatz take a tram or bus from the main station.
