Esslingen Christmas Market 2026

The Esslingen medieval market and Christmas market is open from 24 November to 22 December 2026, daily 11:00–20:30, Fri and Sat until 21:30. Around 180 stalls are spread across the old town. According to the organiser, there are also around 500 programme items on three stages: at Rathausplatz, at Hafenmarkt and in the Zwergenland at Kleiner Markt.

Two markets in one: at the medieval market traders offer their wares as they did centuries ago, while the Christmas market has nativity figures, clay lantern houses, nostalgic toys, felt caps and furs. The backdrop is the half-timbered houses of the old town.

Advent market on Ritterstrasse
On the Advent weekends more than 30 craftspeople sell pieces made of felt, glass, wood and wool on Ritterstrasse.
How to get there
- About 15 minutes on the S1 from Stuttgart main station; from Esslingen station and bus station about 10 minutes' walk to Marktplatz. Coaches stop on Kiesstrasse by the university of applied sciences, from where it is about 5 minutes' walk to Rathausplatz.
