Baden Christmas Market 2026

In 2026 Baden has four Christmas markets. The city's Christmas market takes place on Wednesday 9 December, from 11:00 to 20:00, on Weite Gasse, Badstrasse and Theaterplatz. The Badener WunderDorf also stands on Theaterplatz from 29 October to 23 December, open Tuesday to Sunday, free admission. On Saturday 5 December the Baden Advent market around the town church (09:00–17:00) and the craft market in the Villa Boveri (11:00–18:00) follow.

Weite Gasse – Badstrasse – Theaterplatz
A market day in Advent: the stalls stretch from Weite Gasse in the old town via Badstrasse to Theaterplatz. The city aims for as much art and crafts as possible and has the stalls decorated for Christmas.

Theaterplatz
A winter village on Theaterplatz that opens as early as the end of October: market huts with gifts and crafts in the Gschänkli-Dörfli, street food, several bars, a lounge tent with straw bales, the Terrazza tent with its own bar, and cosy little huts. On weekdays it opens only in the late afternoon, at weekends from midday.

Badener Adventsmarkt
Around the Catholic town church (Kirchplatz) · since 1991 · around 90 stalls
Around 90 decorated stalls on Kirchplatz, where around 50 social institutions sell what their clients have crafted, made and baked: biscuits, cards, gifts. Volunteers serve mulled wine, soup, raclette and crêpes, and there is a supporting programme in the town church and the Sebastianskapelle.

Weihnachtsmarkt Villa Boveri
Villa Boveri and park · since 2022 · around 30 stalls
A small craft market in front of the Villa Boveri and in its park: around 30 exhibitors sell handmade ceramic figures, rapeseed-wax candles, paper objects, macramé and jewellery made from cutlery. There is also raclette, mulled wine and punch by the Christmas tree.

Three markets on 5 December
Advent market 09:00–17:00, Villa Boveri 11:00–18:00, WunderDorf from 12:00. All three are only a few minutes' walk apart.
WunderDorf: closed on Mondays
The WunderDorf opens at 16:00 Tue–Fri and at 12:00 Sat and Sun. It is open until midnight Thu to Sat.

On 9 December the Christmas market runs until 20:00, and the WunderDorf at the end of Badstrasse opens at 16:00.
