About Gruyères Castle

Gruyères Castle is an impressive medieval castle in the canton of Fribourg. It sits majestically on a green hill at the foot of the Fribourg Pre-Alps. It offers a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains and the Gruyère region. The castle was built in the 13th century and served as the residence of the Counts of Gruyères. Today, it houses a museum that shows the history of the region and the castle. You can visit the magnificent halls and rooms, which are furnished with antique furniture and works of art. The paintings and wall decorations show the history of the castle over the centuries.
