Description

Explore Fribourg with Detective Badger on this Detective Trail. The 3.8 km route takes you through the Old Town and Lower Town and across historic bridges. Along the way, take in the steep cliffs along the Sarine and discover winding lanes.

Visit St Nicholas Cathedral, Notre-Dame Church, the Town Hall and the Zähringerbrücke. Puzzles reveal stories about Fribourg's coat of arms and the medieval town founded by the Zähringers. You can also try the local speciality «Zähringerli» along the way.

At the end, combine your answers to crack the four-digit code. The route finishes at the St-Pierre funicular station. There’s no treasure chest at the finish; your detective gift will be sent to your home.

Practical information

  • Difficulty: moderate
  • Playgrounds and picnic spots are between the sixth and seventh checkpoints, and near the ninth checkpoint
  • Children aged around 8 and over can usually solve the puzzles on their own; younger children aged 6 and over may need help

Once you book, you’ll receive the treasure map as a PDF with your booking confirmation. Print it before you set off and bring a pen. Illustrated directions guide you from one checkpoint to the next. Clues in your surroundings will help you solve the puzzles. You can download extra hints if needed. If the weather is poor, you can save the trail for a sunny day.
