Murten is a small medieval town on the shores of Lake Murten. It is located on the language border of German and French Switzerland. The 800-year-old Zähringer town is surrounded by a walkable town wall. It is the only walkable circular wall in Switzerland. Passenger boats ply Lake Murten, and you can also visit the country's longest sandy beach at Salavaux. From the nearby Mont Vully you have a wonderful view of the Alps and the mountain ranges of the Jura.

There are many exciting activities in Morat. These include. a guided tour of the town, the Circuit Secret Morat light or a visit to the Museum Morat. On the lake all conceivable water sports are possible as well as a boat trip.
Morat is a medieval town with a ring wall built in the 13th-17th centuries. The historical old town is of national importance. Among the most important destinations are Lake Murten, Murten Castle, the longest beach in Switzerland in Salavaux and the Murten Berntor.
