Saane

The Saane is a 126 km long river that is known for its scenic beauty. Its source is in the Sanetsch region in the canton of Valais. From there, the Saane flows through historic towns such as Gstaad, Gruyères and Fribourg. The Saane offers numerous recreational opportunities, including canoeing and kayaking. The hiking trails along the Saane offer beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and lead through idyllic villages and green meadows. The routes that lead through the Gruyère region, known for its impressive nature and the famous Gruyère cheese specialty, are particularly attractive.
