Salon der Gegenwart on the theme ‘Places’
关于此地点
The Zurich group of figurative painting ‘Salon der Gegenwart’ is appearing in Central Switzerland for the first time with guests from the region. Works by all fifteen people involved are shown in four venues, with each exhibition venue focusing on a different theme. Galerie Stans looks at the versatile phenomenon ‘Places’. Fifteen interpretations of this theme create variety. Guests from Central Switzerland The four exhibition institutions Galerie Stans, Tal Museum Engelberg, akku Kunstplattform Emmen and Hans Erni Museum Luzern welcome the ‘Salon der Gegenwart’ in summer 2026. The ‘Salon der Gegenwart’ is an informal group of Swiss artists working figuratively, founded twelve years ago in Zürich by Giampaolo Russo. Ten artists from the circle of the ‘Salon der Gegenwart’ and, as guests, five painters from Central Switzerland take part in the exhibition and illustrate the relevance and diversity of figurative painting. Different generations are represented, namely Urs Aeschbach, Stefan Auf der Maur, Irene Bisang, Miranda Fierz, Corinne Güdemann, Anna Krammig, Rosina Kuhn, Sepideh NourManesh, Vera Mattmann, Andrea Muheim, Ercan Richter, Giampaolo Russo, Lukas Salzmann, Karoline Schreiber and Rebekka Steiger. Wide-ranging programme The theme covers a broad field. You will see rural and urban landscapes from Switzerland, as well as subjects from Ireland or Vietnam. Imaginary landscapes and portraits are also included. Small canvases painted on site alternate with large-format works created in the studio. The exhibition at Galerie Stans is complemented by a rich accompanying programme with exhibition tours, meetings with the artists and live musical performances.
