关于此地点

Tinguely’s idle machines are understood all over the world as an allegory of consumer and industrial society. For Jean Tinguely himself, the machine represents humour and poetry. The many wheels of the sculpture are symbols of wisdom and madness in one. Jean Tinguely, who died in 1991, was a contemporary Swiss painter and sculptor and a supporter of the French art movement Nouveau Réalisme. The members aimed to break down the elevated status of the visual arts and to integrate the reality of everyday life into art using new techniques and materials.
