In the historic vehicle depot of the former Säntisbahn in Wasserauen, historic vehicles from the extensive collection of the «Historische Appenzeller Bahnen» foundation are on display. Among them is Switzerland’s only narrow-gauge diesel-electric railcar from 1929 in its original condition. You can also see numerous items from the former everyday life of the railway and its staff, documentation on the railway once planned from Appenzell via Wasserauen – Seealpsee – Meglisalp to the Säntis, and regularly changing documentary exhibitions on topics from Appenzell’s long history, currently on the history of railway stations. The museum is located in the historic vehicle depot of the former Säntisbahn in Wasserauen.
