Parc de la Perle du Lac and Botanic Garden
Về nơi này
Parc de la Perle du Lac is not far from the botanic garden on the lakeshore. There is also the small harbour with the landing stage for the «Mouettes Genevoises» (ferries), which run between the two shores of the lake. The park is an extension of Mon Repos and Moynier Park and offers a lovely view over the lake. On the 28-hectare site of Geneva’s botanic garden, with more than 12'000 species of plants and trees, there is an almost meditative calm. The eye is drawn to the 21-metre-high neoclassical greenhouse, which looks like a small palace. Inside, plants from Mediterranean climates from around the world grow, such as succulents or gigantic palm trees that stretch their leaves up to the dome. The garden’s herbarium, with 6 million specimens, is one of the largest in the world.
