Về nơi này

The Praetorius vocal ensemble, together with the soloists and a baroque orchestra, presents two light-hearted operas by Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1633 - 1704) at Oper Märstetten. Charpentier was also court composer at the court of Louis XIV, among other roles, where he had to compose music for the "evening entertainment" in Versailles. Charpentier is best known as the composer of the Eurovision melody, and at Oper Märstetten you get to know and love him as an opera composer. On the opera stage, the two operas "Les Plaisirs de Versailles" and "Les Arts florissants" are performed. The allegorical figures of music (La Musique), joy (Le Plaisirs), discord (La Discorde), architecture (L'Architecture) and others compete with one another; in the end, music prevails and praises the king for his glorious deeds. The roles are portrayed by the four soloists in arias, and the Praetorius vocal ensemble appears as the chorus of warriors, as furies and as the chorus of joys. The vocal ensemble is accompanied by acknowledged specialists in historically informed performance practice.
