The award-winning duo OHNE ROLF amazes with a unique form of performance art: at OHNE ROLF, speaking means turning pages. The short sentences printed on 1000 placards, as well as the surprising action between the lines, are brilliantly funny, gripping and occasionally even musical. With their pre-printed placards, OHNE ROLF invented a completely new form of performance art. By now, there are five full-length programmes. With them, the two tour across the whole German-speaking region and delight comedy fans, theatre audiences and even reluctant readers alike. They stand silently on stage and turn placards: humour cannot be more minimalist than in the comedy of the Lucerne duo Ohne Rolf. And yet their crazily inventive cabaret has more philosophical bite and deeper humour than all the others! With their own invented ‘erlesene Komik’, they effortlessly break every genre boundary between cabaret, theatre and literature. “Their near-unlimited wealth of ideas, their playful ease with language and the philosophical depth of their programmes are so surprising and compelling that after a Ohne Rolf programme you become addicted to more,” wrote the jury of the German Cabaret Prize 2015.
