Staffelbacher sandstone has been used for centuries as a building material in the canton of Aargau and the surrounding regions. In the museum, historical photos and films show how the sandstone was quarried. Fossil finds from the Staffelbacher-Grobsandstein are also on display. In the stonecutter's hut, sand and sieves are provided so you can actively search for fossil shark teeth yourself.
