The festival nomen est omen is taking place for the tenth time. Under the title decimus, the anniversary edition of the festival runs for six weeks in summer and draws people from near and far to Wangen an der Aare. A varied programme of art, improvisational theatre, slam poetry, pub quiz and lots and lots of music turns the Städtli into a place for encounters and culture from 7 August to 19 September 2026, a meeting point for young and old alike, with a small stage and many opportunities to celebrate. Friday, 7 August, 19:00: opening. With accordionist David Häggi, speech by Markus Oberholzer, head of the music specialist commission of the Kuratorium für Kulturförderung of the canton of Solothurn. Saturday, 8 August, 19:00: Les Colisses du Haut. Traditional folk music and original compositions. Sunday, 9 August, 16:00: pub quiz, but outdoors. Sign up your team, come along and join in! Hosted by Jacques Spälti and Sven Düscher. Details at www.festivalnomen.ch Friday, 14 August, 19:00: Alphorngruppe Gümligental Saturday, 15 August, 20:00: Valerio Moser. The current European poetry slam champion is appearing at festival nomen est omen decimus. Sunday, 16 August, from 11:00: mensa longissima. Come to the Städtli, pick up a menu at the Krone, the Rendez Vous, the Städtli Food or the Stagi, sit down at the 60-metre-long table and enjoy! Friday, 21 August, 20:00: Jul Oliver. The Nidau singer-songwriter performs his distinctive voice, accompanied by piano and guitar, with his own English and French songs. Saturday, 22 August, 20:00: improvisational theatre with Daphne Oberholzer. There has been a murder – a bloodthirsty one? Planned long in advance? You decide! Sunday, 23 August, 10:30: brässANT. Small line-up in a pure brass set-up with cheeky, groovy, punchy, unconventional sound. Friday, 28 August, 20:00: Nick Roch. Country once, pure and simple, covers and original songs, countrymusic from the region that brings joy. Saturday, 29 August, 20:00: Wöschchuchi Serenaders. Christian Feldmann, Rolf Hasler, Mario Knörr, David Kummer and Erich Wettstein make handmade music with Wöschbrätt and everything else that makes a noise. Sunday, 30 August, 16:30: Echo vom Ricken Friday, 4 September, 21:00: pure nostalgia. We look back on the past nine editions of the festival and raise a joyful glass together to the anniversary! Saturday, 5 September, 18:00: Duo MARDERSCHRECK. A musical journey with Horst Allemann and Pino Flück. With lots of improvisation and always straight to the heart. Sunday, 6 September, 10:30: Cairde. ‘Fremdländer’ repertoire around bagpipes, fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki and bodhran from Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, France and old time from North America. Friday, 11 September, 18:00: Militärspiel Brassband. It gets lively in the Städtli. Saturday, 12 September, 20:00: Vivi Lou. The Zug singer-songwriter writes songs like diary entries, touches people with her music and reminds you that you are not alone with your feelings. Sunday, 13 September, 10:30: Alpenjazz. Peter Zulauf (sax) and Haeme Ulrich (Örgeli) play what grooves, swings and gets under your skin! Friday, 18 September, 20:00: Disco. The 10th festival and 50 years of Disco Knorrli – if that doesn’t go together! Dance with us to finish off the anniversary festival in style. The legendary DJ Hasi plays with his daughter Cas. Saturday, 19 September, 15:00: festivalENDE. Festival finale with music from accordionist David Häggi (The Städtli is closed to traffic at weekends, continuously from Friday evening, 17:00, to Sunday evening, 19:00.)
