From Piazzolla’s tango to Boccherini’s fandango and Fagerlund’s modern sound research, a programme full of rhythmic energy and dance-like impulses unfolds. A musical chance to discover times and cultures, from baroque Spain via Tango Nuevo to Nordic contemporary music. A defining feature of the concert society for Finnish music series is its thematic focus on works by Finnish composers, which are placed in relation to colleagues from around the world across eras and styles in carefully curated programmes. In the current concert, Finnish modernism is represented by music by Sebastian Fagerlund. «Come Eco» explores the phenomenon of echo musically: how does a sound change in space, and how does the piece also reflect echoes from Fagerlund’s earlier works? The strings of the Taru Ensemble and guest guitarist Christian Lozano Sedano take on these questions. Fagerlund’s work for guitar and string quartet is framed by Astor Piazzolla’s moving Histoire du Tango and Luigi Boccherini’s gripping guitar quintet «Fandango». Before the concert, a sociable «Meet & Greet the Artists» invites you to exchange ideas with the artists in person. Welcome!
