Exhibition: 2000 years of wine at Arenenberg
Bu yer hakkında
The exhibition, which opened in 2025, takes you back as far as Roman times. Finds of shards suggest that, 2000 years ago, vine growing was already practised on the sunny Arenenberg slopes above the Untersee. For this period there is also the imagined wine farmer Silvana from the first century AD, who guides today’s visitors through the history of winemaking at Arenenberg and by the lake. Her silhouette shows you the way to the historic wine cellar from the Middle Ages. In short texts, she explains what each themed station is about and introduces the various experts. They then deepen the information via audio guide and рассказывают about the history and present of lake wine. Selected exhibits, some to touch, some under glass, some as animated images, offer extra experiences. The themed stations symbolise wine ships with barrels and sails – once the most important means of transport for wine on the lake.
