Kirchner and Baselitz Remix: repetition in woodcut 01.05.2025 – 30.10.2026 Galerie Henze & Ketterer presents an exhibition of woodcuts by Georg Baselitz and Ernst Ludwig Kircher on the upper floor of the gallery. At the centre of the exhibition are six large-format Remix woodcuts by Baselitz, which reinterpret the hero images of his early creative period. These are contrasted with key woodcuts from all phases of Kirchner’s career. The exhibition makes the artistic method of repetition and reworking visible as a central element of both positions and shows how two generations of German art history each develop timeless pictorial power in their own way. An accompanying online catalogue places the woodcuts on show alongside their painted counterparts and lets you explore the works in greater depth. We look forward to your visit!
