Om den här platsen
The bronze Fontana Denkmal dates from 1903 and commemorates Captain Benedikt Fontana. He was an episcopal bailiff who served at the southern border of the Three Leagues. He allegedly died a martyr in 1499 during the Swabian War, in the Battle of Calven, before the Grisons drove the Habsburgs to flight. The monument was created by the Swiss sculptor Richard Kissling, whose works also include the Telldenkmal in Altdorf.
