On the tour through the Museum House C.G. Jung, you learn more about the working and family life of Carl Gustav and Emma Jung-Rauschenbach, as well as their children. The reception rooms, library and study, as well as the private rooms, not only give you an insight into the couple’s sphere of activity, they also tell you about the family’s preferences, interests, leisure activities and, more generally, the living conditions of the time. The lower floor is devoted primarily to the Jung family’s everyday life. This is where they spent time together with the children and where the usual daily routine took place. In the large dining room, meals were eaten; in the salon, coffee was served; they played together, talked and C.G. Jung received guests from all over the world with a view of the lake. The veranda opens onto the well-kept ornamental and landscape garden, and mementoes recall Jung’s distant journeys and expeditions. The upper floor houses the work and study rooms. C.G. Jung’s extensive library is preserved untouched in its original condition. It bears witness to the scholar’s exceptional erudition and his research interests, which were as broad as they were profound. The library’s entire holdings belong to the C.G. Jung works foundation, Zürich, which preserves and manages them. The waiting room for Jung’s private clients was largely reconstructed. Here he welcomed his patients and led them into the study next door. This room too has been preserved authentically; it shows C.G. Jung’s desk as if he had just left it for a moment.
