King Karl the Short has long since withdrawn from the business life of his kingdom on earth. By the magic of a fairy, he came to the fascinating world of flowers and insects. There, together with his former personal secretary Grimeau, he built a small state. This enchanted land of blossoms now forms a complete contrast to his former life on earth under the prevailing human conditions.
