Switzerland between history and myth
Despre acest loc
The Federal Charter Museum’s modern exhibition explains the history of the Old Swiss Confederacy: the alliances of the Old Confederates, their many conflicts and compromises, life in the Middle Ages and the famous battles of Morgarten or Marignano. Alongside history, the Federal Charter Museum also focuses on myths: where does the story of William Tell or the Grütli Oath come from? What can be historically verified? In clear terms and with plenty of images and film material, it shows what significance our myths had for Switzerland and still have today. At the centre is the Federal Charter of 1291, long regarded as the founding document of Switzerland.
