Despre acest loc

“Táin” means “raid” in Gaelic. And the concerts by Táin feel a little like a raid too, though in the best possible way. Without many words, the four musicians dive with great energy and virtuosity into the world of Irish and Scottish tunes and immediately draw the audience in. The melodies, often passed down through many generations, have something magical about them. They sound like joy and lightness, but they are also seasoned with a hint of longing and melancholy. The songs carry the vastness we enjoy while standing on cliffs and let us feel the power of stormy sea winds and the wild nature of the Highlands. Thom Freiburghaus and Louise Gillman play enchanting melodies on various bagpipes, flutes and violin, Mirjam Gosteli spices them with fiery percussion and Silas Bitterli frames them with powerful guitar and, at times, his unique voice. It is a musical raid of a very special kind. One that makes you blissful and entices you to dance. And stirs up the urge to buy a train ticket to the north right away. Or to attend the next concert that catapults you there.
