The Offene Kinderbaustelle Wattwil project creates a space in the centre of Wattwil where children can build high and low. At the children’s building site in Wattwil, competent carers support and accompany the children. In the area provided for this purpose, they can build and create freely with a wide range of building materials, according to their ideas and wishes, their knowledge and skills. Outdoors, children learn to take part in hands-on and creative activities, on their own or together, to include their surroundings in what they do, and to develop their tactile, social and motor skills. All children up to the age of 12 are welcome. The offer is free for all visitors and, outside the supervised opening hours, the children’s building site is available to all lower and middle primary school classes, nurseries, the special needs school, all youth associations from Wattwil and the region, and other interested parties in childcare for any projects and events.
