Over deze plek

Every living thing leaves traces. The world is full of them: footprints in the snow, gnawed fir cones, bones, nests or smells show that someone was there. But what does the trace tell you? Since humans have existed, they have had to read traces: that is how they find food and avoid becoming the next meal themselves. Reading traces takes knowledge and experience. It is not only the individual trace that counts, but also the context in which it appears. If you are skilled, you learn the whole story. The riddles surrounding traces and what caused them are the focus of the exhibition produced by Naturmuseum Solothurn. Interactive stations offer explanations, identification aids and comparison objects, until in the end you are ready, with sharpened senses, for trace puzzles in the wild.
