The Freudenberg fire pit is around one kilometre north-west of Bad Ragaz, in the courtyard of the Freudenberg castle ruins. It lies next to a large meadow that invites you to linger and play, and it is surrounded by the historic walls of the ruins. The barbecue area is mostly sunny, with a few trees providing some shade. On site, you will find a fire pit with a grill, seating and firewood. A fountain with drinking water, waste disposal and a toilet are also available. The fire pit is well suited to individuals, couples and families, but not to larger groups. Access from the parking options is via an asphalt road and a well-maintained gravel path to the ruins. Once at the top, you can enjoy a fine view of Bad Ragaz and the surrounding mountains.
