Observatoires
Om dette stedet
For its 6th Carte blanche, the MAH invited John M Armleder (Geneva, *1948). With him, the museum, which holds more than 500 works by the internationally renowned artist in its collection, found an ideal curator, able to continue an extraordinary dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation. Observatoires is a thematic journey in which each room explores a different universe – from animals to abstract painting, from musical instruments to light fittings. By setting the MAH’s impressive architecture against the museum’s extensive collection, John M Armleder stages a unique exhibition, into which each object fits in a way that is as surprising as it is coherent. Supported by ephemeral structures and layers of overlap, everyday and aesthetic objects enter into a mutual exchange that constantly opens up new possibilities: an invitation to wander, so that all visitors can build their own repertoire of ideas and associations.
