Brahms Monument: listening girl figure
Om dette stedet
The house Brahms lived in during this period was demolished in the early 1930s, and a small park was then created with the monument by Hermann Hubacher. For the Brahms monument, Hubacher created a symbol of music and listening to music: a free-standing nude female figure with closed eyes suggests, through the position of her arms, that she is listening carefully. Alongside his work on the portrait bust, his engagement with the free-standing female nude was Hubacher’s main theme.
