Om dette stedet
With oriental sounds and a live broadcast, the argovia philharmonic opens the new season under the baton of its chief conductor Josep Vicent. The Composer in Residence Fazıl Say takes you with his concerto for violin and orchestra ‘1001 Nights in the Harem’ into a sound world inspired by the tales of One Thousand and One Nights. Spanish violinist Leticia Moreno takes on the role of musical narrator. This is followed by Camille Saint-Saëns’ ‘Organ Symphony’. The composer succeeds in blending organ and orchestra into a majestic sound. The organ, played by Ilja Völlmy, is broadcast live with sound and image from the Stadtkirche Aarau.
