The new main exhibition at the Forum Würth Rorschach explores the joys and challenges that leisure activities, whether sport or play, bring with them. After all, this pastime offers not only exercise and a welcome change in everyday life, but also space for new impulses and inspiration, and thus plays an important role in the creative process. Moments of leisure beyond fixed rules of play, distractions in carefree freedom, daydreaming, letting yourself drift, wandering about, relaxing or fooling around shape how we spend our free time and find expression in a wide range of artistic forms. Is the art world perhaps, in the end, the ultimate playground? And is the spirit of competition not only omnipresent in modern society, but also in the artistic milieu? Alongside the classic sporting activities and leisure pursuits that you can also observe around the Würth Haus Rorschach on the shore of Lake Constance, such as swimming, sailing or cycling, the main exhibition explores the phenomenon of play as a creative experience – from childhood pleasure to board games.
