“A generous dose of humour and positive energy in substantial songs - on stage, a force to be reckoned with!” Claudia Masika’s powerful voice was already praised by her grandmother with great pride: “At last, we have another musician in the family!” It was from her that Claudia learned in Kenya the magic of traditional songs in the Luo language. With her African roots, together with her fellow musicians she has created her own version of Afro-fusion, which resonates far beyond the Afro fan base with a broad audience. For around 15 years, the versatile artist has lived in Switzerland. She has established herself both as a musician and as a painter, as the owner of her own fashion label, and as the founder and president of an aid organisation for young women in Kenya (HOFOGI). With her positive energy, expressive songs, a top-class multinational band behind her and the album “Rafiki” in her luggage, she puts a smile on the audience’s face and rhythm in their legs.
