The ibex paradise
O ovoj lokaciji
Around 1'700 ibexes cannot be wrong: in the mountain world around Pontresina, Graubünden’s heraldic animal feels especially at home. It is no coincidence that one of the largest ibex colonies in the Alps lives on the Piz Albris (3'166 m ü. M.). In the ibex paradise of Pontresina, guests and locals are invited to explore these idyllic conditions in an entertaining way. On the ibex promenade in the valley, a one-kilometre walking trail suitable for pushchairs, children and adults can discover entertaining information at seven points about the animal’s character, its habitat and its distribution. At the top station of the Languard chairlift, at 2'332 metres above sea level, visitors learn in the ibex gallery, among other things, more about the fascinating history of the eradication and reintroduction of the ibex. Just a few metres from Alp Languard, young climbing enthusiasts can let off steam on the lively ibex playground: who runs, climbs or dashes faster – the ibex or me?
