Description
You meet your guide at the Rotenboden mountain station. From there, you walk about 15 minutes steeply down the mountain to the igloo village.
You will spend a romantic night in an igloo and also be spoiled with culinary delights. The Igloo Village Zermatt is located in the middle of the ski area on the Gornergrat between Rotenboden and Riffelberg.
After a guided night snowshoe tour, you have the opportunity to warm up in a whirlpool and in the sauna.
Inside the igloo, temperatures remain around freezing point. However, a heated Kota is available as a common room. The igloo is decorated with snow and ice art. You will be looked after by the igloo guides throughout your entire stay in the igloo village.
Swiss Activities Tip
The sunrise over the Matterhorn is an unforgettable sight. If you get up early in the morning, you can enjoy the play of colors in the sky and the first rays of sunshine on the mountains.

Arrival
By Train
- to Zermatt Station
The valley station of the Gornergrat Railway is directly across the street from Zermatt Station, just 50 m away.
By Car
- Zermatt is a car-free village
- Travel by car is possible only up to Täsch
- From Täsch, continue by train (15 min to Zermatt)
Please take a train that departs from Täsch no later than 15:30.
By Cable Car (Gornergrat Railway)
- You buy the Iglu Ticket at the valley station (Zermatt – Rotenboden round trip). If you have a valid ski pass, you do not need to purchase a separate ticket.
- You will take the Gornergrat Railway at 16:00 for about 30 minutes to the Rotenboden station. The meeting point for the igloo overnight stay is directly at the station.

- Don’t take rolling suitcases, use backpacks instead.
