Description
The Dufourspitze is located in the Monte Rosa massif and is the highest mountain in Switzerland and the German-speaking area with an altitude of 4634 meters. The peak is also the second highest mountain in Europe, just behind Mont Blanc. in 1863, the mountain was renamed by the Federal Council in honor of the cartographer Guillaume-Henri Dufour.
This tour takes you during two days to the top of the Dufour peak. You will be accompanied by a private mountain guide with a lot of experience. You should also have a lot of experience with 4'000m peaks and alpine climbing in the 3rd to 4th degree of difficulty. It is also important that you acclimatize with another tour before the climb.
On the first day you will meet your mountain guide at the valley station of the Matterhorn Express. Together you will drive up to the Klein Matterhorn, where the tour starts. You ski to the Schwarztor and from there you climb over the Gorner Glacier to the Monte Rosa Hut. At 03:00 o'clock the next day you start the ascent of the Dufourspitze.
