Talmuseum Ursern
About this place
The house, which is among the finest patrician buildings in the Ursern valley, was built in 1786 by Talammann Franz Dominik Nager. As it served as the headquarters of the Russian field marshal Suvorov in 1799, local people also call it the «Suworow House». The heart of the museum focuses on domestic life around 1780/1800 with the show room. The permanent exhibition also presents the following themes: valley and cultural history, tourism, the military, alpine farming, muleteering and a natural history cabinet. A room is also dedicated to Bernhard Russi, and temporary exhibitions are shown on the ground floor.
