Description
In addition to unique flora and fauna, the Jurassic Park has a lot of culture and history to offer. Discover sacred buildings from eight centuries on this hike. You will admire art and cultural treasures of national importance.
During the hike you will learn a lot of exciting facts about the history of the region and the traditional architecture.
At the meeting point you will meet your guide and the rest of the participants. During the next hours you will hike together through the beautiful Staffelegg valley. The first place you will visit is the reformed Densbüren.
Then the path will lead you across the historic religious border to the Catholic villages of Herznach and Frick. On the way you will visit various chapels and churches. Unique are the visits to the chapels of Verena and Antonius, which are otherwise closed to the public.
Practical information:
- Hiking distance: 10.5 km (+100 hm / -220 hm)
- pure hiking time: 2:40 hrs.
- Excursion can be visited with an all-terrain wheelchair. Due to narrow doors, the chapels in Herznach and Ueken can only be visited from the outside.
- Wheelchair accessible toilets are available along the route
- For participation with a wheelchair, contact the provider as early as possible
