Die Aare ist ein Fluss, der ausschliesslich durch die Schweiz fliesst. Sie entspringt dem Oberaargletscher im Berner Oberland und schlängelt sich durch Orte und Landschaften. Durch die enge Aareschlucht bei Meiringen fliesst die Aare mit erhöhter Geschwindigkeit von etwa 12 km/h. Über Stege und Umgehungstunnel ist die Aareschlucht im Sommer begehbar. Auf der Aare kannst du eine Vielzahl von Aktivitäten erleben. Das Böötle ist ein eher entspanntes Schlauchbootfahren auf der Aare, das im Sommer sehr beliebt ist. Die 27 km lange Strecke zwischen Thun und Bern ist dafür besonders beliebt. Nach einer Reise von über 288 km mündet die Aare schliesslich in den Rhein.
