Description
With this train ticket, you can travel by regional train from St. Moritz to Alp Grüm and back. On this route, you travel through the Engadin Alps over the Bernina Pass.
Alp Grüm is a small settlement that grew out of a mountain pasture. The view from up here is particularly spectacular. There is a restaurant with a panoramic terrace at the station.
From here you can see across Valposchiavo to the Bergamo Alps. They are already in Italy. To the west you can see the gigantic Valü glacier.

The regional train takes about 1 hour from St. Moritz to Alp Grüm. You travel through alpine terrain on the Bernina Pass. The alpine pass runs at 2235 m above sea level.

Swiss Activities Tip
Pontresina is a popular vacation resort at 1805 m above sea level. It is surrounded by mountain giants such as Piz Languard (3262 m above sea level) and Piz Albris (3166 m above sea level). The village still has traditional Engadine stone houses with sgraffito murals. The decorated bay windows are also typical. The Marienkirche church has medieval murals.
Traveling in a wheelchair
- The trains of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) increasingly have low-floor entrances (marked NF in the timetable).
- RhB offers assistance for people with reduced mobility in cooperation with SBB. The SBB Callcenter Handicap organizes assistance when changing trains where platforms have not yet been raised and floors have not yet been adjusted. It will help you to prepare for barrier-free travel or if you need help en route. Please register at least 24 hours before your journey.
Traveling with your dog
- Small dogs up to 30 cm are free of charge if they remain in a transport container for the entire journey. This must be pushed under your seat.
- Dogs without a container and all dogs over 30 cm shoulder height require a valid dog ticket: half the price of 2nd class or the minimum fare (Dog Day Pass, Dog Pass). They must sit under the seat so that the passageway is not blocked for other passengers.
